Metamorphosis Monday-Remodels Along the Way & Touches of Autumn

Just a little look back at the Metamorphosis of our home since we moved in.  We are here 22 years..oy! This is how it looked when we bought the house:

Sorry, this is from my camera phone because it worked better than the camera! Yellow, shingle 3 bedroom ranch -3 bedrooms is generous...the 3rd bedroom was tiny. It did havea den off the back that many other homes did not have-so we were happy with that! Overgrown landscaping, too

Then, after living here for about 3 years, we decided to do new siding and a new roof-that was a killer expense!  The shingles were aspestos, as many were then, and the roof was in bad shape. So, this was the next look.

The roof is gray brown -not white! The shingles were cedar shake-vinyl.- we wanted real, but the coast factor was out of reach, since we had to do the siding and roof- and had the 2nd baby on the way! The lanscape shrubs are cut back, but not looking too good.

Then, it was 14 years and another child later ( they were 17, 13, and 6) we decided to build the house UP! We looked around the neighborhood-we didn't want to change schools- and saw that we could do our own reno for less than the house prices in our own neighborhood-to get what we wanted. So, seveal months and floods and holes in ceilings with water pouring through and awful electricians- we had our dream house.

We just did the paver driveway last year and we are happy with it. The path goes to our yard, where we have a patio and deck...pics another day.

So, that brings us to this weekend when we morphed into Fall.  I am still having a hard time letting go of summer. I think it is because our summer was so unusual this year...so much rain, no 90's and ubruptly over. We usually have an Indian Summer, too at this time, As I feel it get chillier, I don't think that will happen. I do love Autumn, but I wanted my full dose of summer first! So the flowers are still in waiting for the frost, but we picked the green tomatoes and set them on the window still, in hopes that they will ripen. I haven't taken in the patio furniture. Shells are still all around inside and out.

Since I know it is really fall and time to give in, I did this...

I think I can give in now...

at night...

Ooops, forgot to put out the pumpkins!
Hope youlike what you see...looks a little busy, but the fam likes it...

For fun you should go to BHG and carve a pumpkin!
You can send cards to friends and print the stencil of your idea to carve your real pumpkin!

They also have stencils for your favorite dog breeds at this site !!!! Who wouldn't want a labkin?

You can print these, too!
