"Personal Collection"

Did you have or do you still have one of these? Mine was brown with "Personal Collection" written across the top piece. I also had a printers box with my treasures in it. I had this shelf under the couch (!!!!) for so long! I would mop under and hit it and tell myself to either get rid of it or do something! So, after rearranging the furniture-again-(do you do that? I am always trying new looks) I pulled it out, taped up the doors and hit it with the black spray paint. I figured I would hang it above the black desk and try to get that room in order! Then, I found all the little treasures that I had in it from my childhood and my daughters! This is why I can not throw anything out!

Recognize the little "tea" animals? Did anyone collect the little china animals? The crystal deer is from the Corning Glass Factory in upstate NY from the 1960's! Sorry the photo is fuzzy....really have to learn how to use this camera! Little cornstalk dolls! The little dishes on the plate rack are from Sturbridge Village in the late 60's and cradle is in the 1980's with our daughter. I even liked wooden eggs then, too!

Look at this beautiful flower that the storm broke! I was so sad to see it broken, but I brought it in and have enjoyed it's beauty and incredible scent inside for a week and a half!!!

  2. I have an old typesetters box and came up with an idea in bed the other night on what to do with it.

I am starting a NEW Mr. Linky party. It will begin on Aug 10th so everyone will have a week and a half to think about their first post. I have a poll up for votes on which button should be the new button. The "party" is called The Knock Off Knock Out-where THRIFTY meets creative sensation. Go over and learn more about the new weekly event and I would appreciate if you would cast your vote and HELP pick the new button design and its the last week for the July GIVE-A-Way, if you would like to be a part of that event..

  5. Nancy,

I'm so glad that you stopped by my blog and said hello. I am returning the visit. Very nice to meet you.

My husband also commutes in NYC M-F. He usually takes the bus but sometimes the train. And 2 subway rides etc. He has grown used to the commute.

We don't go in the city often. I would love to go back to the museums soon though.

    Have a lovely day!

  6. Hi Nancy! Thanks for coming by for a visit. Don't you just love paint???Your "new" display piece is wonderful. I collected little glass animal figurines when I was a little girl too. I don't have any of them any more. As far as moving furniture around, I don't do a lot of that because it seems to work best where it it. But I DO change color schemes and accessories and pillows every couple of years it seems. I try to just re-use things I already have and fix them up with paint. So far it's worked pretty well. I'm in the middle of another full house change over as we speak! I'll post pics when I'm finished. Have a great weekend!!!

  7. Thanks for commenting on my site. My parents gave me the name Leanne, because my dad's middle name is Lee and my mom's middle name is Ann. I don't find it spelled this way very often. Doesn't black spray paint make everything beautiful again. I love all your little treasures.
